"Last week I was invited to a little soiree to launch Baruzzo Chocolate’s Summer collection – a set of four new chocolates to usher in the warm afternoons and balmy nights (we hope!). Raffaella Baruzzo kindly allowed me to make off with a sample box so I could share the experience with you, lovely reader.


First up, we have a fresh Basil Ganache. I was a little apprehensive about this one. Basil can easily overpower other flavours, and Baruzzo’s chocolate has a delicate, fairly complex flavour to it, making me wonder what the ganache would have in store for me." Read more..

The World Chocolate Guide has a very interesting mission: visiting, photographing, mapping, and describing and as many of the world’s top chocolate retailers as possible.

They wrote a lovely article about Baruzzo Chocolate and Raffaella Baruzzo, the Company's founder.

"I first met Raffaella around the time I started Chocolate Ecstasy Tours. She was working at Rococo at the time, managing the two shops and helping to open the third. She was as crazy about chocolate as I was (and still am) and her lilting Italian accent made every chocolate she described sound like a piece of heaven. Almost two years ago she set up Baruzzo Chocolates, focusing on chocolates from her native Italy and starting with coated citrus peel and hazelnuts and almonds, sourcing the best she could get her hands on. She expanded into chocolate pralines and ganaches, selling them at food festivals and markets and this week launched her Summer collection. Gala Dinner: Passione Italiana, A Celebration of Italian Luxury, Chatsworth House, Derbyshire

Trade Wine Tasting and Consumer Gala Evening at Chatsworth House

Baruzzo Chocolates selected by Award Winning Chef Francesco Mazzei as a treat for his guests.
Grossi Wines will be hosting an all day event showcasing our high quality Italian wines alongside some of Italy’s best loved exports. Set in the picturesque Derbyshire countryside Passione Italiana is to be a celebration of Italian luxury, encompassing fine wine, revered sports cars, beautiful music and a special dinner, designed and prepared by celebrity chef Francesco Mazzei.
A professional wine tasting will take place between 11.00am and 4.00pm in the private theatre at Chatsworth House, the magnificent home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. This part of the day will be an exciting opportunity for existing and prospective customers to meet our producers and speak with expert members of our team.
The Gala evening will commence at 6.30pm with a Franciacorta Reception in Chatsworth’s stunning Painted Hall. Visitors will then have the opportunity to take in the opulent surroundings as they make their way through the house and gardens to the impressive 18th century stable block. Shortly before dinner guests will be offered an aperitif in the stables courtyard where an array of Italian supercars, kindly loaned by luxury automotive retailer Stratstone, is to be on display.
Dinner, by Francesco Mazzei of award winning London restaurant L’Anima , will be served in the Carriage House Restaurant at 8.00pm. The wines served with each course have been carefully selected from our diverse range to complement the menu.
The evening will end on a sweet note with hand crafted chocolates from Italian chocolatier, Baruzzo, and a performance from Gianluca Paganelli, a rising star in classical music. Gianluca, who has already made a name for himself in his homeland of Italy with successful releases to date as well as television and film appearances, will bring the night to a close with songs from his forthcoming album ‘Tango’.

Baruzzo proposed a creation evoking the Italian flag and including a variety of flavours and ingredients from different parts of the coutry.



Baruzzo celebrates Italy's 150th anniversary with a selection of three chocolates that bring together the different regions of the country and their traditions: basil, lemons and jasmine, north, center and south, leaves, fruits, and flowers.
